A woman who handed over £2,500 to a man she met through a dating website has warned about the dangers of online fraud.

Ann Bowen, 53, from Leicester said the man claimed to have been with the US Army for 19 years and wanted the money as an administration fee to secure his army pension.

Steve Profitt from Action Fraud said people often did not realise what had happened until it was too late.
