Leicester family fire deaths police make further arrest

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a house fire in Leicester that killed four people.

Shehnila Taufiq, who was in her 40s, her sons Jamal, 15, and Bilal, 17, and daughter Zainab, 19, died in the fire in Wood Hill on 13 September.

Seven people were arrested by Leicestershire Police on Wednesday after officers executed warrants at houses in the Leicester area.

The 19-year-old arrested on Thursday evening is in police custody.

Six of the people arrested on Wednesday, a 16-year-old, two 19-year-olds and three men aged 20, 21 and 24 remain in custody while inquiries continue.

An 18-year-old has been released on bail.

Kemo Porter, 18, of Browning Street, Leicester, has been charged with four counts of murder and is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court at a later date.
