A 19-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Antoin Akpom, who died after a street attack in Leicester.

Mr Akpom, 20, was assaulted in Kent Street at about 17:30 BST on Thursday.

The man charged is expected to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Police have not yet ruled out a link between Mr Akpom's death and a suspected arson attack which killed a mother and her three teenage children in the city on Friday.

Firefighters found the bodies of Shehnila Taufiq, who was in her 40s, her 19-year-old daughter Zainab and sons, Bilal, 17, and Jamal, 15, at their home in Wood Hill.

Two men arrested in connection with the fire remain in police custody.
