The family of a woman who was found dead at a house in Leicester have described her as "loving and devoted".

Katrina Wardle's body was discovered in Ottawa Road shortly before 07:30 BST on Tuesday.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with her murder and will appear before Leicester magistrates on Thursday.

In a statement released on behalf of the family, Mrs Wardle's husband Chris said he was "trying to pick up the pieces of a shattered world."

'So unique'

Mr Wardle said his wife, who was aged 48, had four brothers and three sisters who were all "missing her intensely".

He added: "Tina had a fantastic sense of humour and a happy helpful personality.

"Everybody who knew her had nothing but respect for her.

"She would want people to remember her for the good times, as the happy laughing person she was."

Det Ch Insp Siobhan Ashford said investigations were continuing into the death and urged anyone who saw anything suspicious in Ottawa Road on Tuesday morning to come forward.
