Leicestershire festival car fire death: Man charged

Police at Fristock Police are asking anyone who went to the Fristock Festival to contact them

A man has been charged with manslaughter after a man's body was found in a car near a Leicestershire music festival.

The fire service alerted officers to a vehicle blaze on Water Lane, Frisby on the Wreake, early on Sunday.

Two 17-year-old boys arrested in connection with the death have been released without charge.

An 18-year-old man is due to appear before magistrates in Loughborough later.

The victim is yet to be formally identified.

A post-mortem examination has taken place, but further tests are needed to determine the cause of death, police said.

Det Ch Insp Matt Hewson, of Leicestershire Police, said: "The incident took place close to the Fristock Festival and we believe there may be people who attended this event that could have information which will help with inquiries.

"We would still like to speak to anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening."
