A man has been found with a serious neck wound in a Leicestershire town.

The man, believed to be 62 years old, was discovered at about 09:00 BST and taken to hospital by air ambulance where he remains in serious condition.

His attacker is described as white, aged in his 20s or 30s, and was wearing a grey T-shirt and baseball cap and was accompanied by a border collie dog.

A cordon is in place around the scene on Bluebell Close in Oadby and officers have begun searching the area.
