Leicestershire crash victim named by police
Police said the two vehicles were going in opposite directions before the crash
A 34-year-old passenger who died in a two-vehicle accident in Leicestershire has been named by police.
Gavin Smith of Melton Mowbray was killed after a Land Rover Discovery collided with an articulated lorry on the A6006 at Shoby on Saturday morning.
Two other occupants in the Land Rover were taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary and treated for minor injuries.
A 54-year-old man arrested in connection with the accident has been released on bail.
Detective Constable Pete Davies said: "The lorry was travelling towards Melton and the Land Rover Discovery was travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the collision."
He appealed for any witnesses to contact the police.
