Loughborough murder investigation after body found

A murder investigation has begun after the body of a woman was found at an address in Loughborough.

Leicestershire Police were called to Gallico Close by the ambulance service at about 20:10 GMT on Wednesday.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death are in the early stages, police said.

Detectives said they are waiting to speak to a 30-year-old man who is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Det Ch Insp Simon Cure has appealed for information about anyone visiting the property between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon.

He said: "Did you see or hear anything unusual? Any information could help with our inquiries."
