Five in court in Leicester after sex crime probe

Five men have appeared in court charged with 21 sexual offences following a police investigation into the exploitation of a 16-year-old girl.

The men, aged 20, 22, 25, 27 and 39, were remanded in custody after appearing at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

A 15-year-old boy who was questioned by police has been released on bail.

Officers have been working with the victim after her family raised concerns about her welfare, police said.

The men, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, will appear at the court again on 29 January.
