East midlands Airport Services resumed at around 22:00 GMT on Friday at East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport services are back to normal after flights were suspended on Friday after heavy snow.

About 20 flights in and out of the airport were cancelled or diverted after heavy snowfall.

The Met Office said a yellow warning was in place across the East Midlands, with police, councils and the Highways Agency warning drivers to take care.

East Midlands Trains said services were running as normal but advised passengers to check before travelling.

Up to 5cm (2in) of snow fell in parts of the county on Friday - with more snow flurries expected.

The Met Office said it expected up to 2cm more across the weekend.
