Large fire at shisha cafe in Leicester factory building
The shisha cafe is on the third floor of the four-storey building
Firefighters are damping down a large fire in Leicester which has damaged a shisha cafe.
They were called to the Curzonia Knitwear building, in Birstall Street, at about 11:20 BST.
Leicester City Council said it had previously raised health and safety issues with the owner of a shisha cafe on the third floor.
The fire service said the majority of the burning was in the shisha cafe, but the cause has not been established yet.
A spokesperson for Leicester City Council said: "When the council visited the shisha cafe a number of health and safety issues were noted.
"The owner of the business was advised to carry out the necessary works and a re-visit was being planned to ensure that the business was compliant."
Nine pumps were in attendance at the height of the fire but operations were reduced at about 15:15 BST.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Although the majority of the burning is located in the shisha lounge the cause of the fire has not been established."
