Man, 41, found with head injuries in Northfields, Leicester

A 41-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was found with serious head injuries in Leicester.

The man was discovered at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Northfield Road, in Northfields, at about 23:00 BST on 9 June.

Detectives believe the man could have been involved in an altercation with a group of people.

He was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary but later transferred to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The area was cordoned off while forensic examinations took place but that has now been lifted.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
