Security guard hurt in attempted Leicester cash box robbery
A security guard needed hospital treatment when a man tried to take the cash box he was delivering to a bank in Leicester.
Police were called to the Yorkshire Bank on Horsefair Street at about 12:25 GMT. The attacker smashed his way out of the premises and made off on foot.
Detectives said investigations were at an early stage but it was not thought anything was taken.
The guard was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attempted robbery is asked to contact Leicestershire Police.
