Leicester hospital's new mothers DVD attracts NHS interest
A DVD shown to new mothers before they are discharged from the maternity unit at Leicester General Hospital has been attracting interest from other NHS trusts.
The film, which was made by Leicester hospital staff, contains advice and tips for new mothers on how to care for their newborn.
Midwife Carol Liptrot said the DVD gave them more time to spend with their patients because they discharged about 15 women and babies everyday, which took about 30 minutes each.
After the new mothers have watched the 15 minute video they can ask the midwife further questions and raise any concerns with them.
