Leicestershire policeman's video appeal for bone marrow donors

A Leicestershire policeman who needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life has made an online video to appeal for new donors.

Insp Rik Basra was diagnosed two years ago with acute myeloid leukaemia but there is a substantial shortage of Asian bone marrow donors on both the national and international registers.

He is also holding an event at a Sikh temple in Leicester to collect saliva samples from volunteers in the hope of finding a match.
