Leicester New Walk Museum: new dinosaur exhibition to open

Help

A new collection of dinosaurs is set to go on show at a Leicester museum as part of an existing exhibition that has been closed for two years.

New Walk Museum's senior curator Mark Evans said the "improved" dinosaur gallery would have a new type of plesiosaur and a sea-going reptile from the Jurassic period.

Old favourites including the 165 million-year-old Rutland Dinosaur and the Barrow Kipper will also be on display from 3 September.

Managing curator Liz Wilson said children would be able to find out more about palaeontology through new interactive activities.
