Pupils race energy efficient cars on Mallory Park track
Young racing drivers from across the UK have battled it out at Leicestershire's Mallory Park Racing Circuit to see who can travel the furthest on a single gallon of fuel.
The annual Mileage Marathon challenges student teams to design, build and test energy-efficient vehicles.
Young driver Sam Chapman-Hill and teacher David Leater from Kingdown School in Warminster, Wiltshire, explained the appeal of the event.
