A man has been arrested over the death of a 37-year-old man who was assaulted in Leeds.

Gerard Adeshida, from Beeston, was attacked in Lady Pit Lane, near St Francis of Assisi Primary School, at about 18:00 BST on Saturday.

He died in hospital on Sunday. West Yorkshire Police said he is thought to have received a head injury after falling backwards during the assault.

A 27-year-old man is being held on suspicion of manslaughter.
