Cygnet psychiatric hospital in Bierley Lane, Bradford Police arrested a 48-year-old woman at Cygnet Hospital

A psychiatric hospital patient has been arrested on suspicion of murdering another resident.

Linda Goswell, 52, from Halifax, died at Cygnet Hospital in Bierley Lane, Bradford.

Police arrived at the hospital at 06:15 BST on Saturday and arrested a 48-year-old woman.

A post-mortem examination has failed to show a conclusive cause of death and further tests are being carried out, West Yorkshire Police said.

An official at Cygnet hospital said: "I can confirm that the police were called to the hospital on Saturday morning following the death of a patient.

"Another patient has subsequently been arrested."

Det Supt Simon Atkinson said: "A 48-year-old woman was arrested at the scene in connection with the death and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
