A toddler who died after being hit by a car thought to have been driven by her father has been named.

Angel Jackie-Jean Pitts was struck by a black Toyota Avensis in Cromwell Mount in Belle Isle, Leeds, on 14 June.

The 15-month-old was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but was pronounced dead a short time later. Her funeral will be held on Thursday.

The driver of the car, understood to be the girl's father, was initially questioned by West Yorkshire Police.

Her parents said in a statement: "This was a tragic accident that her father did not see coming and could have never imagined it happening.

"We would like to thank everyone for their support at this tragic time."
