A collection of Dr Who and Star Wars memorabilia seized from a couple who were jailed for fraud has been auctioned for £25,000.

Julie and Anthony Nickerson were sentenced at Bradford Crown Court in May for their part in a conspiracy to steal £2.5m from a West Yorkshire laundry firm, JLA.

The collection was seized from the couple's home in Halifax.

Police said proceeds from the auction would go to the victim.

The haul, which also included Star Trek and Thunderbirds items, was sold on Friday at Wilsons in Northern Ireland.

'Ill-gotten gains'

Julie Nickerson, 55, worked in the accounts and finance department of Halifax firm JLA, a supplier of commercial laundry equipment which was defrauded by the couple.

She and her husband bought a £500,000 house and spent almost £200,000 on holidays from their "ill-gotten gains", police said.

Nickerson was jailed for five years and her spouse was jailed for 30 months.
