Bradford ambulance hits lamp-post in crash

Four people were taken to hospital when an ambulance hit a lamp-post and caught fire.

The vehicle's driver was trapped behind the wheel by the crash in Toller Lane, Bradford, about 02:00 BST, West Yorkshire Fire Service said.

The ambulance was carrying a patient and a relative to hospital, Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust said

Its crew and passengers were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary as a "precautionary measure", it added.

No other vehicle was involved and the road was closed for a short time, police said.
