Body believed to be missing West Yorkshire student

A body found in the River Mersey in Liverpool is believed to be that of a missing Leeds student, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Aamir Qudeer, 21, was last seen in Liverpool on 26 February, after he had been reported missing from Bradford.

Police said the body was recovered from the water after it was seen by a member of the public on Sunday.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned while inquiries continue into his disappearance.
