Man appears in court accused of Leeds murder

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man found stabbed in a street in Leeds on Saturday.

Bakhtiyar Muhsin Omar, 28, appeared before Leeds Magistrates' Court where he was remanded in custody to appear at the city's crown court on Tuesday.

A post-mortem examination found the victim died as a result of stab wounds.

The 24-year-old was discovered "laid out" in Lincoln Green Road, near the city centre, shortly after 02:05 GMT and died in hospital.
