James Leslie remanded over attempted murder of Leeds PCs

A man accused of the attempted murder of two police officers allegedly shot at in Leeds has been remanded in custody by city magistrates.

James Leslie, 37, of Queenswood Drive, Headingley, was arrested on Wednesday several hours after PC Suzanne Hudson, 33, suffered shotgun wounds.

PC Hudson and PC Richard Whiteley were attending a call in Cardigan Road in Headingley.

Mr Leslie will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on 20 December.

He is also accused of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a shotgun with intention to endanger life, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.

Police have described PC Hudson's condition as "poorly but stable".
