Karl Gaskin charged with murder of Sidney Cox in Thorpe

A fourth person has been charged with the murder of a 57-year-old man in a West Yorkshire village.

Sidney Cox was found seriously injured at Thorpe House Farm in Thorpe, near Leeds, on 24 August. He died in hospital the next day.

Karl Gaskin, 41, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody at Leeds Magistrates' Court and is due to appear at the city's crown court on Friday.

Three other men have previously been charged with the murder of Mr Cox.

They are Ambrose Dear Senior, 39, of Stocksbridge Lane, Doncaster, John Edwards Nicholson, 24, of no fixed address and Michael Valance Dear, 39, of Norton Common Road, Askern, Doncaster.

Mr Nicholson has also been charged with assault, possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.
