Man held on suspicion of Thorpe murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a 57-year-old man.

Sidney Cox died of multiple injuries after he was attacked in his home in Middleton Lane, in the village of Thorpe, near Leeds, on 25 August.

West Yorkshire Police said a 30-year-old was arrested earlier, bringing the total number of arrests in connection with the investigation to nine.

The man remains in police custody while inquiries continue.
