Bradford boy seriously injured in dog attack

A 13-year-old boy has been seriously injured in an attack by a dog at a house in Bradford.

Armed officers had to shoot the animal in order to rescue the boy when he was attacked at 19:30 BST on Sunday at a house in Frank Street, Great Horton.

The boy was treated by paramedics before being taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

West Yorkshire Police said the boy remained in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The force said investigations were continuing to try to establish the breed of the dog.
