Nathaniel Flynn remanded over Louisa Denby death

A man has appeared in court accused of murdering an 84-year-old woman and stabbing a nine-year-old boy.

Louisa Denby was found dead at her home in Shipley, West Yorkshire, on Monday - hours after the boy was attacked in a nearby skate park.

Nathaniel Flynn, 26, of Prospect Mount in Shipley was remanded in custody during a brief hearing at Bradford Magistrates' Court.

He is due to appear before Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday.

Mr Flynn is charged with murder and attempted murder.

He faces a further charge of attacking a 59-year-old man in Stanley Street, Bradford, with an iron bar later on Monday evening.

He is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
