Huddersfield man killed and two injured in crash near Barnsley

A 24-year-old motorist from Huddersfield has died following a two-car crash near Barnsley, police said.

The man died after the blue Peugeot he was driving collided with a grey Jaguar on High Lee Lane, Hoylandswaine, at 18:10 BST on Tuesday.

A 52-year-old man, a passenger in the Peugeot, and the 49-year-old driver of the Jaguar, both from Huddersfield, were taken to hospital for treatment.

South Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
