Leeds Bradford Airport flights resume after snow problems

Flights have resumed at Leeds Bradford Airport following earlier problems caused by the wintry weather.

Flights were halted earlier because of continuing problems caused by heavy snowfall overnight on Friday.

An airport spokesperson said there was still some flight disruption and urged people to check with their airlines.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats game against Leeds Rhinos at Wakefield has also been postponed for the second time in 48 hours because of the weather.

The Superleague clash was scheduled for Friday before being postponed for two days and has been called-off once again.

Volunteers were drafted in to clear the Rhino's pitch but the club said the conditions at the ground were still too unsafe for spectators.

A statement on the Rhinos' website said: "There is no available date at present to reschedule the game, however we will be in discussions with Wakefield to arrange a convenient date at a later point in the season."
