Two police officers who were pursuing a driver moments before he knocked down and killed a schoolboy have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Zain Khan hit 12-year-old Bilal Khizar on a crossing in Bradford in October after speeding away from the officers, who had asked him to pull over.

Khan, 21, of Savile Park, Halifax, was later jailed for seven-and-a-half years for causing death by dangerous driving.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has cleared the officers.

A spokesman said the investigation "did not identify any evidence of criminal behaviour or misconduct by the West Yorkshire Police officers and concluded that the responsibility for causing the death of Bilal rested with Zain Khan".
