Stanningley bypass crash: Three arrested, two injured

Three men have been arrested after a crash on a Leeds road which has left two people seriously injured.

A Volkswagen and an Audi were on the Stanningley bypass travelling towards Leeds when they collided.

The Audi then hit a truck parked in a lay-by. West Yorkshire Police said the driver and a passenger in the Audi were seriously injured.

Three men, two aged 22 and one aged 30, are in police custody. The road was closed for 12 hours but has reopened.

Witnesses to the crash, which happened at 01:00 GMT, have been urged to contact police.
