Bingley teenage assault 'posted online'
An attack on a 14-year-old girl at school that was filmed and placed on social media is being investigated by West Yorkshire Police.
Police were called on Wednesday to reports of an assault thought to have taken place on Tuesday afternoon at Beckfoot School in Bingley.
It is understood footage of the incident was placed online but it has now been removed.
The victim received minor facial injuries.
Councillor Ralph Berry, Bradford Council's executive member for children and young people's services, said the attack was highly unusual and was dealt with properly by the school.
"I've never known anything like it," he added.
Mr Berry said the incident had "given a warning about the use of social media and what it creates in schools".
Officers are due to speak with the girl to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident.
Sgt Paul Robison said: "We will not tolerate this type of behaviour and we are taking this matter extremely seriously."
