Huddersfield woman has 'awake' brain surgery for tumour

A woman with a terminal brain tumour has allowed TV cameras to observe her brain operation.

Debbie Selam, from Dalton in Huddersfield, was awake throughout the procedure and said she wanted people to see "a part of what I am experiencing and to try and understand".

The operation, called an awake craniotomy, took place at St George's Hospital in London and removed about 10% of her slow growing brain tumour, said BBC correspondent Jamie Coulson.
