Leeds shopkeepers shot in face with BB pellet gun

Two shopkeepers have been shot in face with a BB gun during an attempted robbery in Leeds.

A man demanded money and pointed the gun at a 61-year-old woman at the Kundola off licence in Cross Green on Sunday at about 18:10 GMT.

The woman grabbed the gun and the male shop owner, aged 61, went to her aid.

The suspect fired three pellets hitting both victims in the face. They were taken to hospital and have undergone surgery to remove the pellets.

West Yorkshire Police said the suspect was white, aged 18 to 20 and was wearing a light grey tracksuit and black trainers.
