Two men remanded after taxi driver stabbed in Leeds

Two men have appeared in court after a taxi driver was stabbed in Leeds.

Police said the 54-year-old was in a stable condition after the attack at about 03:55 GMT on Sunday, on Heathcroft Drive, in Beeston.

Josh Stevens, 19, of Tytton Lane East, Wyberton in Lincolnshire is accused of attempted murder and robbery. Michael Walker, 21, of Helston Green, Leeds has been charged with robbery.

Both were remanded in custody at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The pair are due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 6 November.

Two others who were arrested, a man and a woman, have been released without charge.
