Leeds taxi driver stabbed in Beeston

A 54-year-old taxi driver is said to be in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in Leeds.

It happened at about 03:55 GMT on Heathcroft Drive, Beeston, police said.

He had just dropped off a woman when he was approached by two men demanding money. Police believe one of the two men attacked him.

Two 19-year-old men and a woman, 20, have been arrested. The taxi driver is said to be in a serious but stable condition in Leeds General Infirmary.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact City and Holbeck police.
