Yorkshire town to ban crowing cockerels from allotments
Allotment owners in Hemsworth, West Yorkshire have been told they can no longer keep cockerels after a complaint about noise.
Hemsworth Town Council said the ban was in response to a complaint from a homeowner on a new housing estate.
The allotment tenants claimed they were not breaking the law and the council was acting beyond its powers.
