Bradford murder investigation after body found
Clement "Butch" Desmier was "well known" in Bradford and Shipley
A murder investigation has been started after the discovery of a 68-year-old man's body at his home in Bradford.
The victim has been named by police as Clement Desmier, also known as "Butch".
Mr Desmier's body was found "in suspicious circumstances" at a house in Rowlestone Rise, Ravenscliffe, at 16:00 BST on Thursday, said police.
Det Supt Mark Ridley, from the Homicide and Major Enquiry team, said police were investigating the possibility that he may have died during a burglary.
A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out later on Friday, police said.
Police and the ambulance service attended Mr Desmier's home after a neighbour entered the house due to concerns for the safety of the 68-year-old. His body was found inside, said police.
Forensic examinations have taken place at the scene in Rowlestone Rise
The evidence so far suggested violence could have been used, police said.
Witnesses have reported seeing two men outside Mr Desmier's home at about 03:00 BST on Thursday and detectives are "particularly keen" to trace the men.
Det Supt Ridley said: "We know Mr Desmier was quite well known in Bradford and Shipley, would drink in local pubs and use local transport.
"We are trying to build up a picture of his movements and lifestyle in the days before his death.
"I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who has seen or been in contact with Mr Desmier during the last week."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
