Kirkstall Road bus lanes 'ease congestion' in Leeds

New bus lanes have been opened on one of Leeds's busiest commuter routes.

The 2.5 miles (4km) of bus lanes on the A65 between Kirkstall Lane and the city's Inner Ring Road would ease congestion said Leeds City Council.

The Kirkstall Road route was used by an average of 45,000 vehicles on a weekday according to the council.

Councillor Richard Lewis said the £20m scheme would be a "massive boost" to the transport system in Leeds.
