'Linked' Cottingley arson attacks destroy four cars

Four cars have been destroyed in West Yorkshire in a series of suspected arson attacks, police have said.

Three cars, all in Cottingley, Leeds, were set alight in the early hours of 3 August, with a fourth attacked in the same area at about 23:30 BST.

No-one was hurt in the incidents and the fires are being treated as linked, said West Yorkshire Police.

Det Con Clare Fisher said the attacks were "clearly reckless behaviour" and "very unusual" for Cottingley.

"The starting of fires such as these can pose obvious risks to residents," she added.

Anyone with information about the incidents has been asked to contact police.
