Leeds Cottage Road Cinema marks centenary with blue plaque
A West Yorkshire cinema whose doors first opened exactly 100 years ago has been presented with a blue plaque to mark its longevity.
Cottage Road Cinema, in Far Headingley, Leeds, opened in 1912 when the building was converted from a garage.
Famous names such as Alan Bennett, James Fox and Sir Gerald Kaufman have sent their best wishes ahead of its 100th birthday on Sunday.
