West Yorkshire Police's new technology predicts crimes
New technology to predict where crimes will occur and target police officers to the areas at greatest risk is being used in Leeds.
Intelligence analysts use computer-based burglary data to pinpoint specific streets at greatest risk of burglary and increase police patrols in those areas.
In the North West Leeds area, where the project is being piloted, there has been a 25% reduction in the number of burglaries in the past three months, according to West Yorkshire Police.
