Dozens of people in Bradford spent the night away from their homes after a fire prompted fears of an explosion.

More than 60 homes were evacuated after acetylene cylinders were found near a fire at a garage on Woodhall Terrace, in the Thornbury area, on Wednesday.

Leeds Road was closed, leading to long delays during the morning rush hour. It reopened after the area was made safe.

West Yorkshire Police said a 200m cordon was being reduced and residents would be allowed home from 16:00 BST.
