Huddersfield builder murder suspect remanded

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a missing builder from West Yorkshire.

John Hay, 61, from Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield, has not been seen since 15 March.

His white van was later seen in East Yorkshire and found abandoned by the Humber Bridge.

Kenneth Bill, 63, of Upper Hagg Road, Netherthong, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Calderdale Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

He will next appear at Bradford Crown Court via video link on Tuesday.
