Stanningley Wines attack in Leeds: shop worker dies

A shop worker who was attacked in Leeds at the weekend has died in hospital.

The 43-year-old man died on Monday at Leeds General Infirmary where he had been critically ill since the incident at Stanningley Wines on Saturday.

Nathan Gerald Trevor Clarke, 22, of Stanningley Road, Leeds, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with wounding with intent.

He also faced two counts of assault and one count of theft. The case was adjourned until next Monday.

Two men, aged 27 and 28, who were also arrested in connection with the incident, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
