Arrest after man critically hurt in Leeds theft attempt
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted theft at a shop which left a staff member critically injured.
Police said three men went to a shop on Stanningley Road just after 1400 GMT on Saturday and were challenged by staff after trying to steal property.
A 42-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary in a critical condition.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said inquiries were ongoing.
