Three men released after suspected hit-and-run in Colne

Three men arrested in connection with a a suspected hit-and-run have been released by police.

A 69-year-old was crossing Albert Road in Colne, Lancashire, on Thursday when it is believed a Vauxhall Corsa hit him and failed to stop, police said.

He suffered serious head injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old man from Burnley, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released without charge.

A 22-year-old man from Colne, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop, and a 23-year-old man from Nelson, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have both been bailed until 28 April.
