Foot-sniffing teacher admits child sexual assault

A teacher has admitted sexual assault by sniffing the feet of schoolchildren in Lancashire.

Martyne Airey, 51, of Parkinson Street, Blackburn pleaded guilty to eight counts of sexual assault on a child under 13 at Burnley Crown Court.

The charges related to pupils aged between eight and 11, between June 2012 and October 2013.

Airey, who has been suspended from teaching, will be sentenced on 1 August at Preston Crown Court.
